Well, seems like The Great Malvern Run 2005 came and went quite well and attracting 48 cars was quite something! For those that missed it this year, you can read all about it in the October issue of gomini
So just thought I'd let you know that it is on the calendar for next year and as the events for next year are already booking up very quickly, I've reserved the same weekend on the Mini2 calendar for it - the 6th August 2006.
It will be a whole new run with different roads and more of the same breathtaking views, but the exact route and format will be finalised closer to the time.
For those wanting to stay over we have camping and B&B (3 rooms) at The Marlbank Inn. We have had a look at this and it is ideal. Basically it is camping in the grounds of a pub which will be open until 1am!!!! For those who don't fancy camping, if you are quick there are three rooms for B&B. Room prices £45 for a double, camping from £6 for two adults depending on size of tent.
What more could you want? Bookings should be made as soon as possible, quoting MINI2 when you book. Tel No 01684 310603 Website www.marlbankinn.co.uk
When you have booked please let us know.
Please find below tomtom files of the three legs of the run which can be downloaded to your Tomtom sat nav. The first itinerary will take you from your home to the start of the run and then around the first leg:

Well the run came and went before we knew it and was every bit as good
as the first one, attracting 47 cars - one less than last year. Tomtom files
to assist with driving the run, was once again a welcome option and the
lunch stop at The Marlbank Inn was very popular. The buffet lunch was
served in a marquee in the gardens and was very well received by the
miniacs on the run!
For those stopping over prior to the run, camping and bed and breakfasr
at the Marlbank was the option and six tents and one B&Ber took up
the option. This was a very pleasant addition to the run and a fun
Saturday night -with good food- was had by all. Hopefully, next year we
can fill the field with miniacs camping!
The weather was perfect and made for a fun lunch stop too.The marquee
and the gardens at The Marlbank really did make lunch a pleasant
occasion. Car parking
at the morning coffee stop, lunch and at the end seemed so much easier
than last year - even though we were only one car less. The run was its
usual mix of single track, "B" and "A" roads and was suitable for
puddlers and spirited drivers alike! For myself and Peanut it was a
pleasure to organise the event and (just as it did last year) it gave
us a chance to put something back into the mini community from which we
get so much.
